For 6 weeks in April and May we are ran an afterschool CrossFit club for students interested in becoming an all around better athlete. Our focus was on constantly varied, functional movement, executed at high intensity.

We emphasizes:

  • Large, compound lifts like deadlifts, squats, and cleans.

  • High-intensity intervals

  • Short anaerobic bursts instead of long-distance low-threshold running.

Our focus of training was to deliver an all-over, well-rounded conditioning program. Heritage Heights CrossFit Team had a great turn out. Twenty two athletes from grades 7 - 9  trained for the six week program.

Our main goal was to train for a competition at Okotoks Jr. High School on May 28th. This was optional, and we had 9 athletes complete on behalf of HHCF.

The 1st Annual CrossFit Challenge was a hugh success. Both teams pushed themselves to their limits and accomplished athletic feats they once though was not obtainable.  HHCF Athlete Alina won 2 out of the 3 events and earned a 1st place overall. Lexy and Krista rounded out the next two places and HHCF swepted the female podium. HHCF Athletes Pyper, Olivia, Zach, Jerome, Cole and Wyatt represented HHCF with integrity and excellence as they all pushed themselve and were amazing. We could not be more proud of the teams efforts and how they represent Heritage Heights School and HHCF.
